About

My name is Mirsada Haskovic. I am an experienced Dutch teacher who has been teaching for more than twelve years. While studying Comparative Literature (MA) at the Leiden University in The Netherlands, I started working for a friend who had founded a language school specialised in teaching expats in The Hague. After gaining the right amount of experience, I decided to start my own language school, Key to Dutch. I choose this name as an homage to my beautiful city of Leiden, the “Sleutelstad”.

I am experienced in teaching students of all levels – from the beginners to the advanced – as well as groups or individually. The great variety of students I have worked with – from business professionals to people with learning difficulties, and originating from all parts of the world – has helped me to develop a good sense of estimating what the personal needs of the students are.

I prefer to work with a method that prepares students for the NT2 Exam, since it provides a strong fundament to the student. Next to that I considers it my personal mission to give all students the feeling that they are not only having the routine of doing schoolwork but that they are enjoying themselves by incorporating funny and interesting customised learning material like role-playing, games and a good amount of visual material in the lessons. Time should fly when you learn Dutch!

Next to helping people pass the NT2 Exam on both level B1 and B2, I specialise in the Inburgerinsgexamen (Civic Integration Exam) on levels A1 and A2 and ONA Portfolio and Interview Exam.

Key to Dutch is about:

  • Small groups: 4-6 students max so everyone can fully participate
  • Speaking from day one: all the basics during first class so you are ready to make sentences right away!
  • Customised learning material: no lesson book is perfect or complete, that’s why I have customised exercises which I developed myself
  • Homework check: you will receive extended feedback
  • Faster trajectory: as an experienced teacher I know exactly what you need to pass an exam
  • Always 10 % off if you bring a friend: gezelligheid gets rewarded at Key to Dutch!
  • Possibility to follow classes online

Please note that due to a high demand for classes, Key to Dutch isn’t taking on new private students until June 2026. ONA and Inburgeringsexamen Training remain available.
